Assomac welcomed twelve Russian companies and an Indonesian delegation at its stand at the recent Lineapelle fair in Milan in early September to sign co-operation agreements between the association and academic institutions in both Russia and Indonesia.

In anticipation of the next editions of Tanning Tech and Simac, scheduled for February 25-27, 2015 in Milan, Assomac (Italian tannery, footwear and leather goods machinery makers association) organised a business lounge at the Lineapelle fair in September for entrepreneurs and buyers from all over the world, and welcomed a delegation of twelve leading Russian companies, and business and institutional Indonesian representatives to Milan for the first time. One of the major achievements of the meetings was the signing of a co-operation agreement between Assomac and the Yogyakarta “Leather Academy”.

The Russian delegation met more than 50 Italian member companies aimed at creating business opportunities and new partnerships. Some of the companies that attended already have Italian machinery in their factories while others are in the process of creating new businesses and expressed their intention to return for the forthcoming show to carefully select machinery.

Meeting with the Russia delegation

The visit provided an opportunity for networking and a chance to consolidate already existing relations established on previous Italian missions to Russia.  Assomac regularly organises initiatives and footwear and tanning technology workshops in Russia, and has also signed a major co-operation agreement with Moscow’s University of Design and Technology. This has led to a footwear technology workshop, also during Lineapelle, attended by twelve students from the Russian university.
