Programme ready for 4th Freiberg Leather Days conference

The speaker programme for the 4th Freiberg Leather Days conference has been announced ahead of the next event which is set to take place in Berlin. Organised by the German technical institute, FILK alongside the VGCT, the next Leather Days will take place June 18-19.

Every other year the conference takes place in a different venue. This year the two-day technical seminar programme will take place at Berlin Adlershof Science and Technology park in the German capital. Titled "Leather up to date" there will be focus on the German 'Blue Angel' environmental labelling system as well as an update on the latest regulations on hazardous substances.

Presentations on cleaner leather chemistry will make up the first part of the second day of the conference with two presentations on chrome-free tanning systems. The final part of the conference will focus on mechanical processes during leather making and waste management.

The 4th Leather Days conference will also host the German Leather Technician and Chemists society (VGCT) annual meeting and prize giving ceremony. A social event and tour of the Adlershof Science and Technology park are also included in the programme.
