The family of Flavio Alberto Lucchese are deeply saddened to inform the leather industry that he passed away on June 5, 2015 aged 76, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Flavio Lucchese Sr was very active for more than 40 years in the global leather business.

He began his career firstly as a teacher of Biology and then became Director of Brazilian Leather School – SENAI in the 1960s. Later he was appointed Executive Director of regional (AICsul) and national (CICB) Brazilian Leather Industry Associations and held a number of roles over many years. He devoted his career to promote the Brazilian leather industry around the world in a professional manner. Lucchese was a strong supporter of a sustainable leather industry and believed in free trade between the markets.

Flavio Lucchese will be greatly missed by his wife, family and industry friends from around the world.
