Smit & zoon, the Dutch leather chemical producer specialised in wet-end and finishing, will be presenting its new Safetan MW 005 resin as well as innovative, sustainable pigments on finished leather at the forthcoming edition of the ACLE.

The new Safetan MW 005 is a free-formaldehyde melamine resin that has particular properties to fulfill the strict needs for waterproof uniformity, the requirements for free formaldehyde processing and an increase in grain tightness, all at the same time. It can also be used for increased leather quality in shoe upper, upholstery and leather goods among others.

A collection of leathers will also be displayed; both finished and crust, made with the wet-green technology - one of the many projects Smit & zoon has undertaken to underline its focus on sustainability.

The Smit finishing division will be presenting a wide range of leather articles, which follow the most recent market trends. New and original, products will fulfill the latest demands for application techniques and desired effects. A special focus will be put on the use of a new series of sustainable pigments where any particular effect can be reached.
