Believed to be the only model authorised by Ferrari to have its seats trimmed in Connolly tan aniline leather, instead of the familiar red Nomex, this highly collectable automobile will be up for sale on October 14.
A 1992 Ferrari F40, the Maranello company’s 200mph supercar, and the last design personally approved by Enzo Ferrari, is the latest top-drawer entry in H&H Classic’s forthcoming Duxford sale, in Cambridgeshire, UK.
It is believed to be the only model the factory authorised to have its seats trimmed in Connolly leather. Ordered new by Francis John Connolly of the eponymous family tannery, the car was used as a promotional tool to showcase the famous British company’s products, which upholstered Bentleys, Aston Martins, Rolls Royce and Ferraris for decades.
The car has a leather-covered fuse-box cover, on which is an embossed stamp of the Connolly crest. In excellent condition, it has adjustable-suspension, a fully stamped service book and just 18,800 miles on the clock. Estimated price range is £750,000-£800,000 (US$1 million – US$1.2 million).
The sale will take place on October 14, 2015 at the Imperial War Museum in the UK.
