Tesla uses excess leather to sell iPhone cases

The American automotive manufacturer is selling iPhone cases made from the same leather used for its cars’ upholstery.

The iPhone cases are made from the leather left over from Tesla's manufacturing process for its cars' upholstery and are compatible with iPhone 6 and 6 Plus as the phones are the same size and shape.

Tesla joins other automotive manufacturers which already market leather goods such as Ferrari for leather gloves, Bentley for leather bags and Corvette for leather furniture.

A great way to use up the company's excess materials at a time when, waste reduction and environmental concerns, should be on top of the agenda for any business.
