Speakers line-up confirmed for Sustainability Conference

BLC and APLF, organisers of the 2016 Conference on Sustainability in the Leather Supply Chain, have confirmed the full agenda for the half-day conference to take place in Hong Kong on March, 31 2016, alongside the APLF trade fair.

The half-day conference will provide participants with the opportunity to hear presentations covering the latest developments on the challenges faced by the industry and the solutions being created:

  • Scott Echols, ZDHC Foundation: Understanding the leather MRSL and the next phase of Roadmap to Zero​.
  • Jurgen Christner, TFL: Cleaner Beaming Technologies: Looking at what can be achieved with modern technologies to reduce emissions, chemical management and safer work places​.
  • Michael Costello, Stahl: Bio-based polyurethanes for leather finishing: Looking at the building blocks of manufacture of bio based polyurethanes for better performance.
  • Ray Niu, PUMA: Aligning the apparel & footwear industry on effluent discharge requirements: Where do we currently stand?
  • Adam Hughes, BLC Leather Technology Centre: The need and drivers for better traceability.  
  • Fernando Bellese, JBS: Integrated sustainability: From farms to the final product.
  • Joe Gibson, Gibson Management: Individual hide, skin & split traceability: Offering an insight into traceability system including the Gibson Bass Hide Stamper which stamps through splits

The event will take place at the Hong Kong Conference and Exhibition Centre on March 31, 2016 from noon until 5.30pm. Delegate fees are US$385 (discounts available for BLC members / APLF Exhibitors / more than one delegate).
