Twenty students from the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT), Mwanza campus, officially graduated from their Footwear Design & Pattern Cutting courses in a ceremony on June 20.
The students, engaged in a course in leather technology which began last November, were presented with their certificates from Dr Evelyn Mbede, Director of the Tanzanian Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, who travelled to Mwanza for the official opening ceremony of the UNIDO Expert Group Meeting taking place at DIT.
The course was a blended classroom and online e-learning course with the practical elements taking place at DIT’s Mwanza campus.
Professor John Kondoro, Principle of DIT Mwanza, told the audience that it was essential for the growth of the leather and leather products industries in Tanzania that young people are well trained and learn in developing countries from a course which blends classroom and online courses.
