The new micro-tannery is to be set up in the county of Leicestershire in the East Midlands of England, and will be specialised in processing small volumes of goat skins.

A planning application has been submitted to local authorities to transform an agricultural building located in a remote rural area of Leicestershire into a tannery specialised in processing goatskins on a small scale.

An environmental statement filed with the application said the designs have been partly prepared with leather experts.

The micro-tannery is to produce up to 150kg of crust leather per week.
