Leather upholstery resource Leather Italia has donated $10,000 to the Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to support a clinic that will be named after the daughter of Leather Italia CEO Mike Campbell.
The money was raised at a benefit concert in September organised by the company and the nonprofit group Chords for a Cause.
The clinic will serve burn patients in Wilmington and surrounding New Hanover County by allowing them to complete routine doctors' visits closer to home.
It will be named for Campbell's 10-year-old daughter, Taylor, who was a patient at the Jaycee Burn Center after being severely burned when she was eight months old.
"It is very exciting to support such a great group of people. The Taylor Campbell Burn Clinic of Southeastern North Carolina will support and aid so many families that face this injury, and will especially be designed towards assisting children with burn injuries," said Mike Campbell. "This facility will allow families in our region to stay near home and it will preserve time and cost for those in need."
Campbell is a member of the burn center's advisory board.
Leather Italia are a leading supplier of upholstered furniture with a large proportion of their products supplied with leather.
