Senior Management changes at Buckman

U.S. based chemical manufacturer Buckman has announced that Steven B. Buckman, President/CEO, will retire on April 28, 2017, after having headed the company’s nine global operating companies for over 16 years. 

Junai Maharaj, currently Managing Director of Buckman Europe, Middle East and Africa, is to become Buckman’s new CEO as from April 28, 2017. On the same occasion, Kathy Buckman Gibson, Buckman International’s President and COO, will become Chairman of the Board of Directors, replacing, Otto Heissenberger, who will retire as Chairman but plans to continue to serve as a board member.

Steve B. Buckman began his career with Buckman in 1974 as an Export Analyst. In 1987, he became President and COO of Buckman International, and in 1996 assumed the role of Chairman of the Board, CEO and COO. He has served as President/CEO since 2000. According to Buckman, the manufacturer’s global sales doubled under his leadership, and the company received two Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge awards from the EPA, an American organisation dedicated to protecting human health and the environment.
