Brazilian new car sales at its lowest in ten years

New car sales in Brazil are struggling to recover as deliveries in the January-February period declined for the third consecutive year, hitting their lowest level since 2006.

In January-February 2017, a total of 283,000 new cars were delivered in Brazil, representing a 6.4% decline over the corresponding period the prior year, when 302,000 new cars were sold. This represents the lowest figure since 2006 (261,000 deliveries), according to Anfavea, the National Automobile Manufacturers Association.

A total of 135, 700 new passenger cars were delivered in February 2017, -7.6% over the same month in 2016, and 7.8% lower than the previous month of January 2017.
