The European Photo Contest depicting “people at work” in tanneries to show the appeal of working with leather has extended its submission deadline.

In order to give more time to participants, the deadline for sending entries has been extended to April 19. In addition, all tannery workers may enter the contest as well as students enrolled in leather tanning education.

All photographs entered for the contest will be published on its Facebook page on April 20, and the number of “likes” will determine the public prize: https://www.facebook.com/leather.is.my.job/. The aim behind the contest is to develop a “transnational interaction between people sharing the same affinities at work”.

The Leather is My Job! initiative was launched by COTANCE and industriAll-European Trade. Union Leather sector representatives from UKLF (United Kingdom), VDL (Germany), FFTM (France), APIC (Portugal), BDSZ (Hungary), UGT-FICA (Spain), FILCTEM-CGIL (Italy) as well as UNIC (Italy), have also adhered to the LIMJ! initiative.

The winners of the photo contest will be invited to attend the Final Project Conference to be held in Igualada, the renown Catalan leather cluster, on June 8, 2017.
