Dani S.p.A, one of Italy’s leading tanners, particularly in the field of automotive, will present its environmental credentials for sustainable leather manufacture at an upcoming automotive leather conference in Munich. With a strong focus on producing natural looking and feeling leathers with all the high-tech specifications required by OEMs, Dani will illustrate how they measure the environmental impact of every leather it produces.
Marta Fumei, Marketing Manager of Arzignano headquartered Dani S.p.A, will outline the company’s recent work in the field of environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility during the upcoming ILM Automotive Leather Supply Chain conference in Munich on May 22. In her presentation, Fumei will outline the company’s commitment to traceability and transparency in the leather supply chain and review the latest processing technology which allows them to produce high-tech yet natural leathers for making a car interior material that looks and feels like leather should.
“The leather is an intermediate product located centrally in a long supply chain. At Dani we believe that building partnerships with suppliers and customers is the key to creating a more sustainable supply chain”, explains Marta Fumei.
“For more than 10 years, Dani has recognised that both social and environmental responsibility are the principles that guide our current and future business accomplishments. These are oriented towards development of the company and its employees, while safeguarding future generations”, she added.
The presentation will include a quick tour highlighting Dani’s latest technical innovations, tannery achievements related to more sustainable sourcing, hide traceability and the recovery of natural resources.
“Eventually we would like to illustrate our ability to measure our environmental impact of each single leather product we produce thanks our "Process EPD" certification”, says Fumei. EPD stands for Environmental Product Declaration.
