The Brazilian leather design event showcased innovative and creative concepts such as a chair trimmed with Pirarucu fish skin and a leather-wrapped swing at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, U.S.

This was Design na Pele’s worldwide launch of furniture collections, which integrates ‘Brazilian Leather’, the Brazilian Leather Exports Incentive Project conducted by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB).

According to the organisers, over 300 contacts were made with architects, distributors, specialised media and buyers during the four-day show, held May 20-23 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. "In addition to the project designers' work, the quality of the materials was also highly praised, both those from the furniture production industries and those from the tanneries, who developed very special skins in pirarucu, suede, and bovine hides”, said Rafael Andrade, Project Officer.

All the pieces showcased are now commercially available.
