The winners of the ‘Leather is my Job!’ photographic competition received their prizes during the final project meeting in Igualada, Spain on June 8.

The competition aimed for those that work inside the tanning sector across Europe. In total, the competition organisers received 62 photographs from six EU countries and 18 different tanneries. The first two prizes awarded by a jury comprised of the project partners were; First prize: Branca Maria Fernandes Moita Fojo from tanners Marsipel (Portugal). Runner-up: Ginevra Ganu from Conceria Newport (Italy).

Another ‘public voted’ prize was determined according to the number of “likes” on the ‘Leather is my Job!’ Facebook page. The public prize was given to Andrei Vesa from A&A Vesa (Romania). The public prize and runners-up prizes were collected by representatives from the respective national tanners’ associations.

More than 2,000 votes were cast on the Facebook page in the public vote.
