Senior appointments at Clarks

The UK headquartered shoes retailer and manufacturer has appointed a new regional President for the Asia Pacific region and a Managing Director for Europe.

With over 30 years of experience in the footwear sector, Jack Quinlan joins Clarks as the regional President for the Asia Pacific, while Ben Fletcher has been appointed as Managing Director for Europe. Most recently Fletcher was Senior Vice-President for the Fossil Group and had previously worked for footwear brands Nike and Timberland. Fletcher leaves his role of Managing Director at UK based Boots Opticians network of retails shops, and currently is a non-executive Director at the British Retail Consortium.

These appointments are said to be in line with Clark’s strategy to change its manufacturing model. As reported by ILM, the British footwear company recently announced it will open a new manufacturing unit at its headquarters located in Somerset and plans to establish similar production units in other locations across the U.S., Europe and Asia over the next few years.

Other appointments at Clarks include Tanya Cordrey and Tobias Zimmerer, who have joined the Board of Directors as independent non-executive Directors, while Paul Kenyon, Chief Financial Director, is to become Executive Director from August 9.

Footwear expert Zimmerer has worked at German brands Gabor shoes, Schuh-Union, and served as Chairman and CEO of the Ara Group. He is also a consultant for various international companies including Tata Group and Deichmann. Cordrey is a Senior Digital Adviser and consultant to several companies, specialising in digital strategy, product innovation and digital transformation. Her recent leading positions include eBay, Zopa, Guardian News & Media and Schibsted.
