Brazilian tanners will be showcasing a Leather Preview space for summer 2019, alongside the participation of 18 companies at the upcoming edition of the All China Leather Fair (ACLE) taking place August 30 – September 1 in Shanghai.

The Brazilian tanneries participating at ACLE hope to generate around US$130 million in business, according to the CICB, the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry, which says the first half of the year showed growth of 2.6% in exports to China/Hong Kong compared with 2016. "It's an important moment for the leather sector, which can support the strategies for the remainder of the year and the beginning of 2018," says José Fernando Bello, Executive President, CICB.

In addition to the 18 companies showcasing products at their stands, leathers will also be presented in an exclusive CICB and Brazilian Leather project space, where the Leather Preview for Summer 2019 will be exhibited. "This collection was first seen at the Inspiramais event in July. They are an interesting showcase of our creative potential, which also help generate business", said Letícia Luft, Manager, Brazilian Leather. The space presents innovative articles from different tanneries, some of which are not present at the fair.

On the eve of ACLE, the Brazilian Leather project will also participate at the third World Leather Congress, which it has supported since its launch. Under the theme ‘The Leather Revolution: how the industry will respond’, the congress will comprise of panels and talks where leading global industry experts will discuss trends and prospects for leather in the world, including growth in the automotive segment, e-commerce, the leather industry in China, global marketing, and raw materials.
