Prices under pressure for UK and Irish origins

Published:  28 August, 2017

The green market for hides in the UK and Ireland continues to fall but traders lament that the drop is not large enough yet to enable a profit margin in the current international market context. In the UK, green hides fell another £2-3/hide, depending on the size of the kill.

Sheepskin prices were also under pressure as the percentage of doubleface declined. Buyers are hoping to get a further 25p off in the UK and25c in Ireland.
