U.S. footwear summit discusses critical importing factors

Organised by the U.S. Footwear Trade Distribution and Customs (FTDC), the three-day summit aims to provide in-depth insights and critical updates on footwear importing, customs, distribution, and footwear trade policy.

To be held on October 22–25 in Long Beach (CA), U.S., the summit seeks to prepare stakeholders in U.S. the footwear sector for shipping bankruptcies and new alliances coupled with trade and customs regulation changes that could ‘seriously disrupt’ both the footwear supply chain and imports. The event will feature keynotes from global supply chain experts and panels featuring footwear professionals from a range of footwear companies, according to FTDC.

Discussed topics will include supply chain risks, updates on costs and potential disruptions ahead, updates on free trade agreement (FTA) and footwear classifications. Sponsors of the event include footwear manufacturers Wolverine Worldwide and Caleres.
