First edition of BLLISS aims to attract brands

The first edition of BLLISS, the Bangladesh Leather footwear & Leather goods International Sourcing Show, takes place November 16-18, 2017 at the International Convention City, Bashundhara, in Dhaka, Bangladesh with the aim of attracting key leather buyers.

Organised by the Leathergoods and Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB), BLLISS 2017 is to showcase some of the best leather footwear, leather goods and accessories produced by leading manufacturers and exporters from Bangladesh in five different pavilions. Visitors to the show are expected to include brands, buyers, sourcing agents and consultants.

Bangladesh, which benefits from tariff and quota agreements with the EU, Canada, Australia and Japan, is the second largest sourcing destination for the international apparel industry. International brands sourcing from the country are said to include Adidas, Aldo, Timberland, Clarks, Nike, Wal-Mart, Nine West, Reebok, and Michael Kors. The country produces an estimated 310 million sq ft of leather annually.

The first edition of the show will be officially opened by Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh’s Prime Minister, during a special inauguration event on November 16, 2017.
