International tanning Group, ISA TanTec, announced it has signed definitive agreements to acquire the Auburn Leather brand, business and assets with closing in the second quarter of 2018.

Key Auburn staff, including current President and longstanding owner Lisa Howlett, will be retained “to ensure continued high quality, character and consistency of the Auburn leather laces for which they are known throughout the industry.” Auburn laces are to be manufactured in ISA TanTec’s facilities using the same proprietary processes, hides, chemicals and equipment to ensure the authenticity and uniqueness of Auburn’s leather laces continues for customers.

Headquartered in Auburn, U.S. state of Kentucky, Auburn Leather was established in 1863 and is a global leader in leather laces. Howlett is to join the ISA team as the Auburn Brand Ambassador and will assist in taking the company to the next level by integrating Auburn into the ISA TanTec Group.

Both companies are featured in the March-April 2018 edition of ILM. Lisa Howlett of Auburn Leather is the guest opinion writer and ILM has an exclusive interview with ISA TanTec Executive President, Tom Schneider about its LITE leather concept.
