The fourth edition of the World Leather Congress (WLC) will be held in New York City, U.S., on July 16, 2019, under the theme ‘Leather in Everyday Life’.

With a particular focus on fashion, the 4th WLC will be jointly hosted by the Leather Industries of America (LIA) and the U.S. Hide, Skin and Leather Association (USHSLA), with the support of the International Council of Tanners (ICT) as well as leather trade fair organisers, Lineapelle.

Speakers from the world of fashion and other related industries will highlight why leather, as a bespoke material, touches people’s daily lives in their homes, cars, clothing, sports and accessories. Other speakers will also address the story and value of leather as an environmentally sustainable material.

The Congress, which takes place the day before Lineapelle New York, will conclude with a cocktail party and a fashion show featuring unique pieces from international designers, including from the U.S., Italy, Brazil and China. Leather buyers, fashion designers, brands and retailers are expected to attend the event.

The venue and other logistics are to be confirmed by the organisers in due course.
