Goerlich hands over ICT reins to Rino Mastrotto

Wolfgang Goerlich, the former Executive Director of CICB (the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry), has handed over the Presidency of the International Council of Tanners to Italian tanner, Rino Mastrotto in Hong Kong today.

Goerlich, who has served two terms as ICT President, has overseen the internationalisation of the ICT which he described as “like British gentlemen’s club” when he became president four years ago.

Goerlich was presented with a memento from the incoming President and ICT General Secretary, Paul Pearson following the ICT Council meeting on March 30.

Rino Mastrotto, is owner and President of large Italian tanning group, Gruppo Rino Mastrotto which specialises in producing leather goods, footwear and upholstery leather from a number of tanneries in Italy and around the world. Mastrotto is also the current president of UNIC, the Italian Tanners’ Association and COTANCE, the European confederation of tanning associations.

Richard Pai, President of the Taiwanese Leather Industry Association (TILA) and Chairman of Taiwanese tanners, TehChang Leather Products Co Ltd was elected as Vice-President of ICT at the meeting.

The ICT Council meeting took place in the HKCEC on the day preceding the APLF, which takes place March 31 - April 2.
