The newly elected President of the International Council of Hides, Skins and Leather Traders Associations (ICHSLTA) co-hosted an industry reception at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 30. Around 120 representatives of the trade attended the event which was co-hosted by APLF.

Nick Winters, Managing Director, Nick Winters Group, a France based hide and skin trading company was elected as the new President of ICHSLTA during the association's AGM on March 30. The reception marked the first social event by ICHSLTA for a number of years and has followed a restructing of the organisation in recent years to better represent the demographics of the modern hide and skin trade.

The event was sponsored by the US Hide, Skin and Leather Association (USHSLA) and Italian split leather specialists, Lamipel. Attendees at the reception included tanners from China who attended along with the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) as well as traders from all over the world and other leather sectorial suppliers and industry associations.

"It is great to see ICHSLTA hosting an event like this. The association has a long history with the APLF and we are very happy that they are able to be present once again as the APLF celebrates its 30th anniversary", said Michael Duck, Director, APLF Ltd at the reception.
