The premium car brand has recorded a +14.5% rise in global sales in August compared with the same month in 2017, setting a new record.
Volvo Cars sold a total of 43,361 units in August, driven by growth in all the key regions of the U.S., China and Europe. Between January and August, a total of 411,931 cars were sold globally, representing a +14.5% increase year-on year.
August sales in the U.S. market grew 12.2%, led by demand for the best-selling XC60 and XC90. A total of 8,970 units were sold, up from 7,994 cars in August last year. Sales in China grew +18.4% attributed to strong demand for the locally produced XC60 and S90 and representing 11,386 units delivered in the month. Europe reported sales of 14,923, up +4.9% from 14,221 cars in August 2017 and driven by demand for the new XC60, the S90 series cars and the XC40.
