Specialty tanner Clayton & Sons goes into administration

UK speciality leather maker, Joseph Clayton & Sons Ltd, which was founded in 1840, has entered into administration with all 23 employees being made redundant. The tannery located in Chesterfield in the north of England was first founded by four local families. In 2015 it acquired the assets of equestrian specialist tanner JE Sedgwick & Co Ltd with the formation of the Clayton Leather Group.
