The France headquartered luxury label joins its rivals by embracing online sales with the official opening of its e-commerce platform in China on October 17.
Products available to purchase on the Chinese e-commerce platform include footwear, accessories, jewellery and ready-to-wear. However, the range of items on sale is said to be smaller than in Europe or the U.S.. For example, Hermès iconic Birkin and Kelly leather handbags are not sold on the Chinese site. Higher price tags have also been reported.
In the first half of 2018, the Group’s consolidated revenue amounted to €2,853 million, up +11% at constant exchange rates and +5% at current exchange rates, with the Leather Goods and Saddlery recording an +8% growth. Read more here.
