On November 13, the luxury Italian fashion label presented the project, which includes social urban planning, to the local community where the new factory will be built.

Fendi’s new 15,000 sq m factory will be based in Capanuccia, Bagno a Ripoli (Metropolitan Florence). Fendi aims to establish a production, material development and research centre, where young artisans are also to be trained. Yet subject to approval, the modern architectural project, which takes over the building of a former furnace and rehabilitates the area, also involves the construction of over 250 apartments and collective facilities, with designated green spaces for the local community.

Approval of the project by the local authorities is expected by March 2019 and the inauguration of the new production site is scheduled for 2020.
