JBS appoints new Chief Financial Officer

The Brazilian meatpacker has appointed Guilherme Cavalcanti as the Company’s Global Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of Investor Relations, effective from January 15, 2019.

According to JBS, Cavalcanti’s appointment was unanimously approved by the Company's Board of Directors in a meeting held on December 4, 2018. "We are delighted that Guilherme is joining JBS. He is a world-class professional with extensive experience of finance and capital markets. He will make a significant contribution to the evolution of our capital structure and to the Company’s growth,” said Gilberto Tomazoni, CEO, JBS.

Cavalcanti holds a bachelor and a masters’ degree in economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Since 2012, he has served as Director of Finance and Investor Relations at pulp and paper manufacturer, Fibria Celulose. Previously, he was CFO and Investor Relations Officer at metals and mining multinational Vale do Rio Doce and, before that, was the Director of Treasury and Planning at Brazilian media group, Globo.
