Highlighting real-time footwear manufacturing, FIMEC’s Concept-Factory aims to help visitors to better understand how the technological processes and products on display at the event can be used.

In its tenth year, Fimec’s Concept-Factory will be held under the theme ‘Information technology at the service of the footwear industry’, the project will feature approximately 70 companies, from raw material suppliers, production management and control systems to machines, and industrial waste disposal services. “Visitors to the fair will see a truly innovative factory in terms of management, with machine and equipment integration systems that increase manufacturers’ productivity and ensure real-time production performance control”, say the organisers.

Other highlights at the 43rd edition of the international leather and footwear fair include the Fimec Forum, which will feature Brazilian and foreign speakers renowned for their footwear industry expertise, and the Fimec Studio, dedicated to fashion information. This year’s Studio’s theme, ‘Converging Relationships’, will seek to address the various generations that, to a greater or lesser extent, participate in the virtual world. “Technology is advancing and becoming embedded into human life. The interaction between different generations leads to new behaviour which consequently creates new consumption characteristics”, said Christian Thomas, Director, Designer and Studio 10.

The 43rd edition of Fimec takes place February 26-28 at the Fenac pavilions in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Tickets to attend the Fimec Forum 2019 are available here, or for more information visit www.fimec.com.br/forum.
