The General Assembly of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC) has elected a new President from Portugal.
Luis Onofre, President of the Portuguese Footwear, Components, Leather Goods Manufacturers Association (APPICAPS) was elected as the new President of the CEC during the biannual General Assembly held in Brussels in December, 2018. Elected to serve a first term of two years, Onofre succeeds Cleto Sagripanti who has held the role for two mandates (2015-18).
An footwear entrepreneur and designer for over 20 years, and heading APPICAPS since 2017, Onofre grew up in the footwear sector and owns a luxury footwear label of his name. He will take over the Presidency of CEC at its next General Assembly, scheduled to take place in Porto, Portugal, on May 24.
