Manolo Blahnik acquires Calzaturificio Re Marcello

The luxury footwear label has acquired Italian atelier and shoe manufacturer, Calzaturificio Re Marcello.

Manolo Blahnik said it aims to strengthen its “vision for developing artisanal talent and nurture the art of shoe making for future generations” with the acquisition, which will see 77 crafts people join the Blahnik group, including Bruno Re, Chairman of Calzaturificio Re Marcello.

“Calzaturificio Re Marcello is synonymous with craftsmanship of exceptional quality in our industry. This acquisition will be our first atelier and manufacturing facility, creating greater creative and operational flexibility for the future of our business”, said Kristina Blahnik, CEO, Manolo Blahnik.

Calzaturificio Re Marcello has one factory located in Vigevano, northern Italy, and has been producing shoes for the designer footwear label since the 1990s.
