Italian publishing company, Ars Arpel Group and some industry partners are hoping to revive a leather trade show in Bologna with the creation of a new fair CreaModaExpo. The first edition is scheduled to take place in October 2014.

CreaModaExpo has set-up by a group of material and component suppliers in the field of footwear, leather goods and garments. The show is due to take place October 29-31 in Bologna.

The organisers of the show say that both the trade fairs that take place in Milan and Paris have been switching their dates to March and September following requests from a limited number of exhibitors: ie, the tanneries that work with luxury brands who need to bring their collections to the market earlier in the season.

Several companies of the industry believe that the current schedule of these exhibitions is no longer fitting with their timings for the market. That’s the reason why CreaModaExpo has been created to let suppliers meet their customers during the months of April and October and the Bologna Fiera fairground has been chosen to keep the tradition of a show in the leather supply industry.

CreaModaExpo is open to all companies that operate in the supply chain to exhibit. This includes tanneries, manufacturers of synthetics and fabrics but also technology suppliers such as equipment manufacturers and chemical companies.
