Turkish beamhouse and wet-end chemical specialist Debag Kimya has produced a process system that increases the cutting area of a hide or skin.
The environmentally-friendly product combination uses enzyme technology to make lightweight, airy and soft grain leather and woolskin leathers.
Its new five-product system improves the final leather quality with a significant increase in the leather surface area. It also produces a better dye uptake, leading to more uniform colour and an improved processing of the subsequent retanning and fatliquoring agents.
The system can be used on hides and skins and produces leather with a finer grain pattern and more elastic structure.
As the system uses enzyme technology the effluent COD and BOD are both lowered.
System products include:
A polymer dispersion product for improving tightness and fullness. It yields excellent buffing properties, reduces stretch and provides an extremely short nap.
An auxiliary syntan with high dispersing and levelling power for dyes and retanning products. This product allows a reduction of up to 20% of the dyestuff used for deep penetration.
