They said: “To ensure that the conference once again becomes an informative and interesting meeting place for the European tanning and leather industry, we, the VGCT and the FILK Freiberg as co-organiser, invite experts, researchers and specialists to play an active part in shaping the technical content.”

The organisers are now calling for submissions from the industry of new ideas, findings or applications in the field of tanning and leather technology or in related industries, before the deadline of March 5, 2024.

They are specifically looking for papers around:

  • New/alternative technologies for leather production
  • News in characterisation and analytics
  • Use of sustainable raw materials in the tannery
  • Innovative processing technologies
  • Automation and machinery
  • New trends in the applying industries
  • Artisan tanneries in the age of Industry 4.0.

The event, which was held in Freiberg, Germany, in 2023, will relocate this year to the IMLAUER Hotel Pitter in Salzburg in Austria, June 12-13, 2024.
