Organisers described the event as “merging the Thai leather community all in one”, with 30 businesses from Thailand exhibiting including tanners CPL Group, Interhide, Kongsiri and Chun Wang, as well as chemical companies such as Modern Dyestuffs and Allied Chemicals.

Supported by the Thai Tanning Industry Association (TTIA), APLF will also host the Next Thai Leather Goods Designer Competition. Ten student teams from universities in Thailand will present their prototypes on October 26, made from leather donated by the exhibitors.

Meanwhile, organisers have highlighted the presence of Thai brands including 31Thanwa, Fundao, Lunné, Nasha and Xotique, who will share their stories on October 25.

During the event, leather experts Karl Flowers and Yusuf Osman will host the Let’s Talk Leather Masterclass, where they will demystify the myths surrounding leather and alternatives, explain leather production and provide insight on how to design with leather.

Finally, three local leather artisans will share their stories and discuss the trends, challenges and opportunities in Thailand’s leather business in the Thai Leather Artisan Talk – Leather Craftsmen United.
