Bangladesh tannery relocation shifts pollution elsewhere
The relocation of Bangladesh's leather industry from Hazaribagh to the Savar Tannery Industrial Estate has reduced pollution in Dhaka, however it has created a new environmental crisis around the Dhaleshwari River, according to an impact evaluation by the country's Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED).
