Leather remains central to Bentley’s interiors, according to the automaker, but the introduction of wool gives the marque an additional natural material option, reportedly bringing a softer and warmer texture to selected cabin surfaces.
Bentley has committed to using 100% Merino wool as an automotive upholstery material. The company has partnered with Somerset cloth maker Fox Brothers to develop a wool flannel designed to meet automotive durability requirements. The material is also the first automotive wool fabric to achieve 100% certification under the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS).
Six colourways have been developed specifically to complement the new Merino wool shades, with the overall interior combining traditional craftsmanship with alternative and recycled materials.
