Polyurethane polymers are typically made with raw materials derived from petroleum-based sources. However, there is a growing need for higher performing, cost competitive and renewable alternatives. This presentation, which will be led by Stahl’s Director of Sustainability, Michael Costello, outlines the main building blocks used in the manufacture of polyurethanes and introduces the concept of bio-based polyurethanes based on renewable raw materials which can provide equal or better performance versus petrochemical based alternatives.
The half-day conference will be held in the afternoon of Monday, October 17, 2016 in the Pompadour room of the famous Hotel Le Meurice, a five-star hotel situated in the rue de Rivoli in central Paris.
The conference takes place the day after the Paris motor show ends and will feature key industry speakers from leading OEMs, leading auto leather tanners, tier-1 and chemical suppliers related to the automotive leather supply chain. There will also be a strong focus on the market in Europe. The hotel conference venue is centrally located making it easy for delegates to attend. The lead sponsors of the conference are Stahl and TFL. The event is also sponsored by JBS Couros and is in association with theSauerReport.
