According to a new report from the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology in the U.S., the amount of methane that major oil and gas companies are emitting in the Permian Basin is likely significantly higher than the official numbers they are reporting to the Environmental Protection Agency.
Following this, Haverhals has called into question the sustainability data of the Higg Material Sustainability Index (MSI) due to the fundamental link between these underreported emissions and the carbon footprint of fossil fuel based materials, both virgin and recycled.
