According to Reuters, the surge in output is driven by strong export demand from countries including China and the U.S., and productivity gains such as faster insemination, feedlot fattening and improved genetics. This has reportedly helped ease global supply pressures and temper rising meat prices.
Brazil’s production grew about 4% in 2025, while U.S. beef output fell nearly 4%. Official figures are due in February, but Brazil also remains the top global beef exporter, with shipments valued at around US$17 billion in 2025.
