Their participation was supported by Brazilian Materials, a leather sustainability project run by the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Artifacts (Assintecal) in partnership with ApexBrasil, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency.
According to Luiz Ribas Júnior, Assintecal’s International Market Manager, the event resulted in R$4.76 million (US$890,000) in on-site deals and 214 new contacts with international buyers, mostly from Europe.
Six of the participating firms were also certified by Origem Sustentável, the Brazilian sustainability certification organisation designed exclusively for the footwear production chain. Their dedicated showcase attracted significant attention from international buyers seeking companies committed to ESG practices, especially for European markets.
Ribas Júnior noted that although the number of visitors was lower than in previous editions, the fair drew highly qualified buyers, designers, technologists and managers from more than 50 countries. He emphasised that the focus on business opportunities made this edition particularly valuable amid ongoing uncertainty in the global market.
The Brazilian companies that exhibited at Simac Tanning Tech 2025 with the support of Brazilian Materials included Smart Group, RBT, Primu’s Têxtil, RR Componentes, Dublauto, KS Solados, NBN, Michelon, BKS and SystemHaus.
