The search for documents at Neves’ home in Rio de Janeiro is said to be part of “Operation Patmos”, which involves the allegations of Joesley Batista and Ricardo Saud, Executives of J & F holdings, owner of JBS, who reported a tip-off of almost R$110 million (US$28.53 million) to Senator Aécio Neves, through illegal business donations and fake invoices. According to local media, a total of 28 search and seizure orders are being served and the police is looking for documents that prove the money transfers mentioned by Batista and Saud. Neves has already been charged for soliciting at least R$2 million (US$512,000) in bribes from a major JBS shareholder.

As reported by ILM, officials from the U.S. Department of Justice have recently visited Brazil to question major shareholders of J&F Investimentos.
