The Brazilian Leather Showroom event took place between April  3-5, coordinated by the CICB and supported by the Brazilian Leather project.

Five Brazilian tanneries presented their leathers in Seoul Partners House and included Courovale, Fuga Couros, JBS Couros, Nova Kaeru and Romeu Couros. In total, more than 50 buyers from the footwear, leather goods and automotive industries visited the 3-day showroom. 

Export manager at Courovale, Elton Haubert says; “It was very good, with objective and qualified visits. I believe we are on our way to open a strong market in South Korea, after all, we did receive a number of orders for samples during the event.”

Rodrigo Saragiotto, Director of Romeu Couros commented that the South Korean internal market is highly connected to design and may well be a valuable space for the increase of finished leather exports from Brazil.

On the evening that preceded the Showroom, the winners of the award given by CICB and Hongik University to three students who designed a collection of handbags made of leather from Brazil. The winner, So Ha Park, will travel to Brazil to visit Inspiramais – Components Design and Innovation Exhibition, in São Paulo.
