The unverified figure is reported by the Brazilian Association of footwear industries (Abicalçados), which promoted the participation through Brazilian Footwear. The Italian fair took place between September 18-20 at the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition grounds in Milan.
With an estimated 612,000 pairs ordered at the event, to which should be added more than 1.7 million pairs in businesses that were agreed upon, the participation was considered very positive by Abicalçados. Commercial Promotion analyst, Paola Pontin said that, compared with the 2019 edition, the increase in generated value was up more than 20%. “It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Micam edition like this. Most of the exhibitors were satisfied with the results, demonstrating a resumption in business”, highlighting that the demand for Brazilian made footwear abroad is growing.
The resumption of the largest footwear fair in the world was the first without the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
