Publisher Marie Claire noted that “transport is the UK’s number-one contributor to carbon emissions and a key climate challenge, but there’s hope on the horizon”, highlighting some of the companies leading the way on sustainability.
Bridge of Weir Leather, part of Scottish Leather Group, won the Sustainable Interior category for its circular and sustainable leather production.
Marie Claire highlighted the company’s life cycle analysis result of 8kg CO2 e/m2 – reportedly the lowest published level in the world.
Meanwhile, the company was also praised for its transparency, ethical standards and gender-equality practices.
Andrea Thompson, Sustainability Awards judge and Marie Claire UK’s Editor in Chief, said: “They’re leading the way in sustainable interiors for motors.”
