The five-year agreement between Celine’s management and the Tuscan regional officials was signed on July 24 and investments at the site are reported to have commenced last month, with about 30 employees having undergone an intensive six-week training course.
The new 2,000 sq m atelier of the French luxury fashion brand, which already has an atelier in Greve, near Florence, is to be opened in Radda (Chianti), province of Siena, in 2019. Training will also take place on-site as well as research and development. One of the aims is to develop an industry 4.0 model dedicated to production. The investment is estimated to be €20 million.
