Agripada police in the Mumbai area recently received tip-off that a leather goods factory in the Rangwala compound near Byculla was employing children at its factory. A police team raided Rahmani and rescued eight children. “Most of them rescued were of age ranging from 13 to 16. We have booked three owners of the factory under the Child Labour Act and the accused have been remanded”, said an officer from Agripada. The rescued children have been send to a rehabilitation home and police have arrested three factory owners Mohammed Irshad, Mohammed Shaikh and Mohammed Churiyar.

During investigation it transpired that the accused not only engaged in employing minors in its leather goods factory but that they were also under paid.
