A specialist in the use of chromium in the leather industry, Dr Tegtemyer’s presentation responds to an increasing stakeholder interest in general chemical management as brands and retailers are becoming more sensitised to the risks associated with chromium VI.  

The following aspects will be discussed on the use chrome VI:

  • Fact – chromium based tanning systems are used to manufacture 80% of all leather produced globally.
  • Fact – chromium VI is a restricted substance within the EU REACH regulations.
  • Fact – NGO’s are increasingly concerned about the safe and responsible use of chemicals in manufacturing processes.
